Premarital
The Bible doesn’t refer to instruction for "engaged” couples in the same way it does for a husband and wife. Therefore, we have designed a Pre-Marital course to reflect the expected relationship that each couple will experience after they are married. Though many principles can be practiced (and should be) prior to marriage, ultimately the course is designed to help in the marriage relationship.
The purpose of this Pre-Marital course is to help engaged couples lay the foundation for a marriage relationship which will both please and glorify God. Being a Christian doesn't automatically mean couples will experience happy and fulfilling marriages, the rise in the divorce rate among Christians today is evidence of that. Success in marriage requires personal faithfulness to God and obedience to His Word, as well as commitment and selflessness. It is our desire to help you reach these goals as you study God’s Word on the subject of marriage.
The Pre-Marital classes consist of meeting with an assigned pastor for 1 interview and 4 weeks of homework. This process is required if couples are requesting one of our pastors to perform their ceremony. However, if that is not the case, we still encourage couples to go through the classes in order to advantage them in their marriage. Pre-Marital forms are available in the church office.
We also encourage Pre-Marital couples to attend the Marriage Ministry for preparation for marriage and learn biblical principles that are necessary for a marriage that glorifies God.
